Hello to all brides/grooms-to-be!
First and foremost, congrats on your big day! We usually get as excited as you do when we first receive your email with your wedding dates! We are always ready to help and answer any queries we can because we understand that planning for a wedding is no easy feat!
We have shared some information that we think would help over on our #flowercrushfriday series on Instagram over 4 weeks but we have compiled them all here, in one blog post so that it will be easy to refer to!
Centrepieces
For venues with higher ceilings, taller centrepieces will definitely make the venue look more lush. If you are working with a tight budget, you could also have a mixture of tall and short centrepieces
For tall centerpieces, ensure that stands used are hollow and it should be taller than when guests are seated. This is so that conversations are not restricted.
For long tables, another option is working with a garland.
For round tables, we usually work with a main jar centrepiece or a cluster of bud vases. Having a cluster of bud vase is more flexible as it allows you to play with height and variation in placement. On the other hand, having a main jar centrepiece allows uniformity and it looks elegant and classic.
Aisle Flowers
Having posies for aisle flowers adds colour to the furniture. For those working with a tight budget, this is something you can DIY as well (: For those who are intending to DIY, and are worried about tying the posies on the chair, you can choose to put the flowers in mason jars and line the aisle with it.
Big and taller arrangements will be good for brides who are looking for a grand march in. It also helps to utilise the space if you have a larger aisle.
Arches
Deconstructed arches are great if you want an unobstructed view of your backdrop.
Square arches are great if you are looking for something more structured ! And if it is too much for you, throw on a drape like we did to bring back some of the curves and soft lines in the arch.
If you are looking for something more classic & romantic, you can't go wrong with a full curved or circle arch <3
What's great about arches is that they are so functional! (: after your march-in or solemnisation, it can be used as a photo booth backdrop.
For brides who doesn't know where to start, we advise you to start a Pinterest board! Pin all the bouquets that catches your eye, or arrangements that inspires you, but do take note of your wedding colour theme and your gown whilst you are pinning the photos.
With your pinterest board, start reaching out to florists. (: check out their portfolios to see if you like their style!
Next to decide on the shape and size of bouquet. For petite brides, you may want to choose to have a posy or a smaller sized bouquet as having a large bouquet may overshadow you and the gown.
There are many different shapes of bouquets you can choose from. This is a cascading bouquet we have recently arranged for one of our brides.
Unstructured bouquets has to be one of our favourite shape of bouquet to work with! (: The possibilities are simply endless with an unstructured bouquet.
The most classic of them all is a round bouquet. But that doesn't mean it is boring! You can switch up the flowers for something unique like what we have done for this bouquet. Cute as a (billy) button!
We have also done a couple of succulent bouquets recently! This is great if you are looking to have a keepsake from your bridal bouquet after the wedding (:
While single variety bouquets exudes elegance, a mixed variety bouquet creates texture and looks interesting!
Even if you are working with a single colour scheme, having a mixed variety of flowers creates interesting textures in the bouquet like this one. It really depend on what you prefer to have (:
